REPORT OF PRACTICE
ABHYANGGAM TREATMENT

A.    Intoduction
Abhyangam is application of oil on head and body followed by gentle massage of body by a trained therapist. The patient will be on the special table and will take seven positions like sitting, lying on back and side etc during the treatment. Abhyanga is done as a single treatment and as a preparation for or along with major treatments. The duration of this treatment is 45 minutes, followed by a bath using green gram powder to remove the oil. The physician will decide the suitability of the patient for this treatment and also the oils suitable for him/her. This treatment is done for a day or for any number of days as prescribed by the physician to suit the conditions and the treatment taken along with it.

5. Opening Treatment,
a) The patient sits in a chair, for women's hair down
b) Take oil, for starters to
• In the fontanel,
• The right-left ear
• Right-left shoulder
• Throat
• Right-left elbow
• the right-hand over left
• in the stomach
• Right-angled left foot
• the right foot-left
· then with a hand gesture as meaning nawakam to pay respect to patients who are considered respectable
c) Take oil treatments then slowly pour in the crown of the patient
d) Begin massaging the patient's head with the palm of the hand turning     clockwise 3 times and subsequent movement opposed to well-clockwise 3 times
e) smearing a little oil on the hair for manageability patients
f) Start massaging / massaging head movements:
• Fingers pen-treatments in the stretch,, starting from the center, the crown of the movement of a small lap top / crown of the head to the neck as much as 6-9 times with fingertips that stick in the head, (middle, right side 2, left edge of 2)

h) In the neck movement from front to back. To left hand moves back to the left, and vice versa right hand towards the back right 3 times then passed to shoulders hand and arm up to the elbow and then back to the chin. This movement is repeated 3-4 times.
i) The movement of the head through the shoulder. The way the head is tilted to the left, running from the ear down to the elbow to the hand. Movement of the package is done 3-4 times. Next turn the head is tilted to the right and do the same movement on the left side of the head. Movement of the package is also done as much as 3-4 times.
j) The movement in the face of the patient.

• Using your thumb, lightly massaging the patient's forehead with a semi-circular motion from the center of the forehead to the back of the ear and so continued until the patient's shoulder.
• Using your thumb held together with the index finger, rub in the direction of the eyebrows as much as 4-7 times.

6. Core treatment
a. Sitting position
1) Clean the soles of the feet of patients with a cloth that has been prepared

12) Movement rubbing feet from toe to upper thigh of patients with anti-clockwise direction. This movement started from the bottom of the foot towards the outside of the upper inner thigh. This movement was as much as 4-7 times. Then finishing the closing movement by transmitting the outward movement of the patient's body (motion sickness shoo) is done quickly.

b. Lying position (Supain Position)
1) Smear the patient's entire body with oil
2) Movement initiated from the patient's abdomen. Circular motion clockwise 4 times, and then forwarded to the patient's shoulder and along the arm.
3) Movement in the hands of patients. The average movement is performed in the same treatments that movement of the outer side of the body inward toward the body. The position of the hands palms together and lock arms open using the thumb and left hand. Movement along this hand done as much as 4-6 times
4) Return the same movement on the number (2), namely Rotating clockwise 4 times, and then forwarded to the patient's shoulder and along the arm.
5) Rub hands with open fingers of the patient, patient's palms attached to the bed.
6) Rotating clockwise 4 times, and then forwarded to the patient's shoulder and along the arm.
7) Movement on the patient's thigh. Patient's thigh rubbing motion with the anti-clockwise direction. This movement started from the bottom outer thighs toward the upper inner thigh. The motion carried 4-7 times as much.
8) Movement rubbing the lower leg, from the tip down to the elbow feet. This movement started from the bottom side toward the outside of the foot to the inside of the elbow. The motion carried 4-7 times as much.
9) Movement rubbing feet from toe to upper thigh of patients with anti-clockwise direction. This movement started from the bottom of the foot towards the outside of the upper inner thigh. This movement was as much as 4-7 times
10) Foot rub
11) Scrubbing ankle
12) Rub on the soles of feet
13) Massaging elbow
14)  With the same movement points (9), Movement rubbing feet from toe to upper thigh of patients with anti-clockwise direction. This movement started from the bottom of the foot towards the outside of the upper inner thigh. The motion carried 4-7 times as much.
15) Return gets stomach, Rotating clockwise 4 times, passed on to the shoulders and along the patient's hand and returned to the toe. The motion carried 4-6 times as much back and forth.
16) In one position, the closing movement by transmitting the outward movement of the patient's body (motion sickness shoo) is done quickly. This movement could mean that the current position has been completed and replace it with the next position.

c. Side to The Right (right Lateral)

Starting from the bottom center moving back to the upper back and then up above, right hand and left hand split (right hand moves to the back of the upper right toward the lower back, and the left hand moves to the back of the upper left toward the lower back). This movement is conducted each 4-7 times as much.

7. finishing Treatment
a. Prepare hot water for bathing patients.
b. Setting up a green powder that is mixed with water to body scrubs. Green powder serves to release the oil that is in the patient's body.
c. Allow the patient to sit in a chair
d. Started smearing the whole body of patients with scrub gently rubbed with a green powder
e. Once done, rinse with warm water that has been prepared

f. Dry the patient's body with a towel.
